From a distance- Lyrics from Bette Midler

From a distance the world looks blue and green,
And the snow-capped mountains white.
From a distance the ocean meets the stream,
And the eagle takes to flight.

From a distance, there is harmony,
And it echoes through the land.
It's the voice of hope, it's the voice of peace,
It's the voice of every man.

From a distance we all have enough,
And no one is in need.
And there are no guns, no bombs, and no disease,
No hungry mouths to feed.

From a distance we are instruments
Marching in a common band.
Playing songs of hope, playing songs of peace.
They're the songs of every man.
God is watching us. God is watching us.
God is watching us from a distance.

From a distance you look like my friend,
Even though we are at war.
From a distance I just cannot comprehend
What all this fighting is for.

From a distance there is harmony,
And it echoes through the land.
And it's the hope of hopes, it's the love of loves,
It's the heart of every man.

It's the hope of hopes, it's the love of loves.
This is the song of every man.
And God is watching us, God is watching us,
God is watching us from a distance.
Oh, God is watching us, God is watching.
God is watching us from a distance.

Someone is watching

Fight One more round

What lies between success and failure

"Its impossible"; the nouth sentence of a fool

brew your life and drink it same

What are the contents of your biography?

Worry never fixes anything

You don't drawn by falling

complacency shouldn't fool you

todat is another day

Try Again

'Tis a lesson you should heed--
Try again;
If at first you don't succeed,
Try again.
Then your courage should appear;
For if you will persevere,
You will conquer, never fear,
Try again.

Once or twice though you should fail,
If you would at last prevail,
Try again.
If we strive, 'tis no disgrace
Though we did not win the race--
What should you do in that case?
Try again.

If you find your task is hard.
Try again;
Time will bring you your reward,
Try again;
All that other folk can do,
Why with patience should not you?
Only keep this rule in view,
Try again.

How to Conquer Fear Now

What is ‘fear’ exactly? Fear is a strong negative emotion that is etched into our psychological and mental fabric from the moment we were born and interacting with other things in this world. A bad experience such as shock, pain during young age may leave a deep-seated fear inside our psychology makeup. Sometimes fear plays its role as a life-saver as it prevents us from taking untenable danger or risk. However, in many cases, it arouses illogical and irrational negative feeling that deters us from pursuing a challenge. As a result, many men live the life of a loser simply because they are terrified to take up challenges that may lead them to enjoy wonderful life experiences.

From among the many human emotions such as anger, hatred, despair, jealousy, aminosity, selfishness and so on, fear is by far the strongest and worst negative emotion that severely impacts a person life. It deters a person from fulfilling the true purpose of life i.e. to learn and evolve to become a better, more enlightened human being.

There are various types of fear: fear of rejection, fear of failure, fear of darkness, fear of loss, fear of pain, fear of death, fear of height, fear of being alone, fear of being in the limelight, fear of public speaking, fear of unknown, fear of taking up new challenges, and many more.

Fear attaches itself strongly onto our emotional and psychological fabric. The more energy we give it, the more destructive it becomes. In the movie Star Wars, Jedi Anakin Skywalker failed to conquer his ‘Fear’ and finally was lured into The Dark Side to become the villainous Darth Vader.

To conquer fear, we need to clearly understand ‘what’ exactly we are afraid of. There are steps we can adopt to free ourselves from a particular fear.

1. Establish a Fear and Its Outcomes
What exactly am I afraid of and why? What is the worst scenario that can happen if thing that I fear most indeed occurs? Write them down in detail. The more details you can write it down, the better you can analyze it and see that the fear and its consequences are very often completely irrational and non-sensible.

2. Analyze Fear
Go over point by point. Make a rational analysis of the probable occurrence of events that you fear. What are the steps you can and will be taking to overcome the consequences of that occurrence? What resources you have or can be reasonably obtained to counter the occurrence? And if all things and efforts fail, what loss will you be encountering? Is the loss bearable? Get your relatives or close friends to go over the analysis together if you have problem doing an objective evaluation yourself. Listen to their opinions.

3. Reversing Your Relationship with Fear
After you have carried out an objective and rational analysis of a particular fear, taken actions and eventually triumphed over it, repeat the process each time you come across a fear in your life. When this practice develops into a habit, you soon become aware that a fear for certain thing eventually becomes a good tool to your success. You become an expert to use fear to clearly analyze a situation, develop solid plan of actions, allocate resources and efforts to overcome a challenge you faced. In fact, you become master of your destiny, not fear. In this way, initial fear for certain thing turns out to be a good tool for success.

We have the choice to act or to react. When we reverse fear from the dominant position of a ‘Master’ to a submissive ‘Slave’, our life changes for the better. Soon we affirm the saying, ‘There is nothing to fear but fear itself’.

Life becomes meaningful and fruitful. We live life to the fullest. That is fantastic, isn’t it?

Goal Setting; Seven (7) Tips

What is your goal in life? Have you ever asked yourself that question? Or has somebody ever caught you by surprise with it? Unfortunately, a lot of people today have lose the art of goal setting. They live out each day as it passes, with no definite finish line ahead.

Others have a vague idea of becoming successful in the future, but that’s about it. I’ve heard many people say that they want a house of their own. While such goals are inspiring to achieve, they’re too broad and are more likely to remain dreams than reality. What use is a goal when you‘re far likely from reaching it?

That is where effective tips for goal setting come in. These tips spell the difference between dreams and reality. If you’re ready to start checking off items from your goals list, read on!

1. Set achievable goals.

One of the most important tips for goal setting is to set achievable goals. Do not set a goal of earning a hundred thousand dollars by the end of the month if you’re barely making a thousand dollars monthly. Those kinds of “big jump” goals are bordering on wishful thinking and are a lot more difficult to realize.

Yes, it’s important to dream big and never let go of the ultimate prize; but you should do it gradually – to make it more believable and attainable.

Using the same example above, you could set up a goal of earning two thousand dollars by the end of the month. After you have achieved that aim, your next goal is to make three thousand dollars, and so on. Ultimately, you could reach the point where you could set a goal of earning a hundred thousand dollars by month end… but not until you’ve passed through several levels of escalating goals.

2. It’s all in the details.

The more detailed your goal is, the more effective it becomes. By being very specific and putting a lot of effort into creating a goal, you are already halfway done with the job. Your mind has already mapped out the outcome of your goal. That alone helps you a lot.

For example, instead of writing down that you want to have a nice job after graduation, write down that you want to become a member of your favorite magazine’s editorial team. It instructs your subconscious mind to focus on something more concrete, gives you something more to hope for, and energizes you to achieve your goal.

3. Allow for flexibility.

If there is really no way you can meet your goal, don’t stop yourself from tweaking it a bit.

If your goal is to move out of your parents’ home in two years, and you still haven’t been able to do it after all your efforts, you can always stretch that deadline for a few days, weeks, or months.

This allows you some leeway and still keeps you dedicated to moving into your own home one day. Don’t keep changing the deadline though, because then you’ll never be able to cross that item off your list.

Here’s the point I’m trying to emphasize: You should be dedicated to achieve any goal within a certain period, but you should never give up in case something went wrong. The important thing is that you did your best to achieve it, and that you’re flexible enough to know when you should alter your original plans.

4. Treat yourself after achieving every goal.

It’s important that you reward yourself for a job well done. If your goal is to finish writing that article, you can promise yourself a nice bowl of ice cream after as a treat.

This motivates you to do your best to achieve your goal. This reward system works quite well for goals that are a little less fun to fulfill.

5. Keep things positive.

When writing down your goals, try to keep your words as positive as possible. In fact, you can do this with tip number four. You can write down, “Pass the exam and go celebrate at the best restaurant in town.”

That’s definitely more effective than writing down, “Pass the exam or else mom will take the laptop away.”

6. Stay committed to your goals.

Don’t go about setting goals and then dropping them to the side once the going gets tough. Goals aren’t always easy to achieve. They may require time, hard work and even sacrifice.

If you’re scared of a little hard work, then you’ll only be setting yourself up for failure. Giving up on one goal too quickly also weakens your chance of completing even one goal on your list. Stay committed to your goal unless it’s more practical to change course.

7. Make sure your goals all agree.

Don’t set goals that might pose a conflict for another goal. A lot of people don’t really notice how contradicting some of their goals can be. Look at your goals list, read it more carefully, and take note of any goals that might hinder another goal’s success.

For example, your dream of becoming a champion sumo wrestler would offset a goal of having 6-pack abs. (Ok, this is extreme, but you get the drift.)

Goal setting need not be a waste of time. As long as you stay realistic, committed and positive, I see no reason why you can’t achieve your goals. So do things the right way and you won’t have to worry about setting yourself up for failure.

Goal Setting Tips | 7 Effective Methods To Achieve Your Goals

No delay. No Procrastination. No excuses!

Never keep your words on long engagement; Transform them through a quick marriage into action. Delay is a slow killer of potent accomplishments. Procrastination is a thief of time. Excuses are comfortable beds on which unfinished tasks rest their heads. And guess how unwilling they will be to get up from those beds once they found their comfort there. What are you still keeping in your head that you have not started doing? What are you still keeping on your tongue left unsaid? How long will you keep waiting to transform your words into reality? It is not too late anyway. Start now, the whole world is waiting upon you!

Just be careful and you will do difficult tasks

If the world were to be a story book for reading, the lazy folks would have loved only the picture pages. It’s very unfortunate to say, majority of people on the earth today always want to eat without producing what is being eaten. This is a complete violation of scriptures. Don’t be lazy to the extent of expecting someone to achieve difficult goals for you. Pursuing a destiny is like eating a whole fish where you are not offered the opportunity to separate the bones. All you need is just to be careful as you take up the courage to trample over tasks you think are too difficult for you!

-Israelmore Ayivor

Self-analysis constructs straight paths

Self-audit or self-analysis is a qualitative measure of assessing oneself from time to time in quest of identifying any drift in pursuits, wallow in stagnation or flow in excellence. To audit yourself, order your conducts and attitudes aright and watch yourself from the back to see how far you are faring. You also ask questions about what you do that add no value to your accomplishments. All achievers in one way or the other had encountered a tap on their shoulders respectively through experiences they came across with. They also had series of encounters with encouragements and rebukes that made them who they really are.

Rebukes made them knew they were drifting and all they needed to get more applause was to re-align. Offer the opportunity to similar minded people to tell you about where you are going. You can know what goes on ahead of you by asking those who had been there. Similarly, you can also know the road you create is going crooked by asking those behind you.

-Israelmore Ayivor

Be consistent in your commitments

To be committed means “to be dedicated to a task or a purpose”. All great achievers both living or long gone have in one way and another stayed truly committed to what they did. You can also be like them!
You don’t waste your time jumping from one task to task to see yourself as a master in a particular task if that’s not the purpose of God for your life. That is called inconsistency. Rolling stone, I heard someone said, gathers no moss. By often falling on the same spot, the rain makes holes in the rock. Just stay true. Be committed to your purpose and consistent in your goals and you will become the very person you dedicated yourself to become.

Dreams are real

Don’t think dreams are not real by applying your studies in Physics or Biology or Chemistry. It may be a fact that dreams don’t have weight, neither do they occupy space. They lack mass and for that matter have no density. It’s a fact that we can tell the phylum to which dreams can be classified. However, they are mental imaginations, motivated by drive to fulfill a purpose, the reasons why Science existed. Science also existed once as a dream and today it becomes a reality. What you imagine doing today will be real if only you appreciate the grace to work it out. Shalom!

You are unique

I kept wondering over why among the 6.2 billion people on earth right now, including the 97,000 born last night, none of them have the same fingerprint. Each and every creature of God seem to be unique in such a way that none of its kind is either available or will ever be. You are the only you on earth. There can never be another you! He may create someone like you, but that fellow will just resemble you, but I not you! You are for that matter destined for a specific vision; only you can do that and without you, am sorry no one else can! Don’t always try to live in someone else’s shadow. Don’t attempt copying someone blindly! You have yourself to copy because you were created with a unique identity and only you can identify that you!

You will need that bridge one day

What do you do to your enemies? Kill them? Or bind them? Or call fire from heaven to burn them? Oh no, take it easy. You know why? “He who cannot forgive destroys a bridge over which he may one day need to pass”, says Larry Bielat. We live to see things turn upside down and it marvels us. It happened somewhere when a certain nurse became a patient for someone she once nursed and a once rich man was given a lift by the one who once opened the gate for him to bring his car home. So you see? Breaking the bridge is very fatal. Rescue the bridge because it may save you one day

Detractors are more like a public toilet

Do you know how uncomfortable it is to stay in a house behind a public toilet? So uncomfortable it is when detractors pursue you in life. You either get used to that common stench or you relocate. But bear in mind that the only time some detractors also succeed in life is to take a bite of your sweet skin, behind you. Hence they are called, back-bitters. The moment you begin to do something good, rest assured, you will get people to stand against it. If you don’t want to get accusers and critics, the method is easy; just don’t do anything !

It’s hard to be humble, but it’s necessary

Humility, to some people is seen as an “underwear”. They feel shy and it’s hard for them to have it exposed. Few others however see it as an “apron” and for that matter, they wear it outside and everyone can see it. Take it or drop it, humility is a secret of greatness. This is how Rev. J.K Ahiaxornu put it; “humility is a winning strength that got its source from the Holy Spirit; it means meekness, but mistaken by some to be weakness”. The fact that you humble yourself for a fellow does not mean you are a fool. It rather means you considered it as an “apron”, but not “underwear”. Humble yourself and the Lord will lift you up.

What terrifies you?

The most horrible word for a patient to hear is “die”
The most horrible word for a student to hear is “fail”
The most terrifying word to whisper to a rich man is “thief”
The most dangerous word a driver may not like to hear is “accident”

Which words look ghostly at you?
Why do they wear that terrific face?
How can you avoid them?
What will be the benefit of you avoiding them?

Identifying answers to these questions will keep self-made depression away for good. Identify the words that add no known value to you and baggage them for the garbage dump.

You are not immune to mistakes

A lot of people fail in life because they refuse to accept their mistakes and correct them. On the contrary, they either blame others for the mistakes they committed or they justify the wrong things they have done. If you keep defending your errors, you probably have no intensions to quit them. Know that as long as you remain a human, your spirit side may be perfect, but your flesh has possessive weaknesses. That tells you that in all you do, pursue excellence, but be aware you “may” have a pot-hole to fill. Instead of “NURSING” your bad deeds, rather “POLICEMAN” them for remand and trust me, they will get reformed sooner or later.

-Israelmore Ayivor

What are you taking for granted?

There are curves we see that possess the treasures we seek. However, a step to make and take those treasures is being neglected and this accounts for the failure of some people. The devil is fully aware that you have a charge to keep, a God to glorify and a never-dying soul to save, but what he can do to let those purposes fail is to make you rate them low. Max Luado saw this and cautioned; “the devil doesn’t have to steal anything from you. All he has to do is to make you take it for granted” Don’t neglect your talents. Don’t ignore your responsibilities. Don’t take your life for granted !!!.

Education has no end

Education never ends, so does studying. You need to keep learning something new everyday with the rise of a bright new sun! It doesn't matter whether you are young or old. Even before you attain pensioner's status, you keep learning, and you don't stop even as  a pensioner. If you have six years to go on pension, go and offer a 3 years' course before you go on the pension! If you have three years to go on pension, go and offer a two years educational course! If you have one year to retire, go and do a six months' academic course! If you have six months to retire, go and do a three months' course. If you have three months to retire, go and do a one month's course. Even if you have one day to retire, go and offer a 12 hours' course and continue learning after attaining pension! Education continues till we become unconscious of things that matter!

Today is yesterday's tomorrow

Don’t postpone what could have been done by you today based on the reason that there is hope for a better tomorrow. Tomorrow may come, but not in the way you expect it. When “tomorrow comes, it looks like no other day than today”. Many of us think of shifting our present tasks till we have a convenient time. Thus with the statement “I will do it tomorrow”. Let’s not forget that today is “a tomorrow” for a day just passed and gone. Anyone who says I will do something great tomorrow has probably said the same thing yesterday! To him, today doesn’t look like the tomorrow he boasted of because tomorrow is a future. Procrastination steals time; get armed against it now!

Be an example of the friends you wanted

"A man that has a friend must show himself as friendly" Proverbs 18:24
Its however absurd for you to expect friends to do something to you while you just sit back and look on. Is that not an cheat? Do unto others what you want them to do to you.

Don't expect to be loved if you don't love at first.
Don't expect to be favoured if you don't give favour.
Don't expect to be welcomed if you don't welcome.

Life is lived in a reciprocal way; you give and take. This tells that you can't and for that matter won't need to take away if you don't give. In front of the plane mirror, you can imagine what goes on there. If you smile at the mirror, it smiles back to you. Just frown at it and the image in it will look horrible to you, but that image is you! Don't do to friends what you do not want to be done to you by them!

The greatest right- "Right to make Choices"

We may talk of many claims backed by the law or constitution of our country. Yes, they are rights anyway. But the biggest, greatest, heaviest and widest right a person can enjoy as a citizen of the earth is "the right to make choices". This right is back by nature!

It is a fact that even our creator respects our right of choices, hence provided us with the the way that links Him to us, but expect us to either choose that way and be redeemed or neglect it and be condemned. This does not mean, He (Jehovah) creates our doom, but rather, it means He respect our views!

How are you using that right? Are you abusing it by your own hands, or someone is helping you to abuse it? Who do you choose as friends? What do you choose as you values? What do you choose to eat? How do you choose to behave? What do you choose to excel in? Life is all about choices!
Make your right choices in the following areas that count so much in our lives;

A-Attitude
C-Carrier
T-Talent
I-Initiatives
O-Orientation
N-Nutrients

Get up and take A.C.T.I.O.N now!

-Israelmore Ayivor

Say something good, it works

Say something now.
Believe what you just said.
Pray for what you just believed.
Have faith for what you just prayed for.

Affirmations work than magic. That is why its very awkward to say something negative with your tongue. Life and death, the Bible said are in the the power of the tongue. The power of the tongue is used in pronouncing death and life. As you said it, so will it be. Just take a serious notice of what you say in your speech and the words in the songs you sing. Let them edify you, rather than creating obstacles on your ways to fulfilling a divine purpose in this life.

-Israelmore Ayivor

My greatest fear

My fear is not that I might fail or lose.
Neither do I greatly fear sickness, death or poverty.
My greatest fear is because of the great strength and weight given to me by God.
And that fear is that I might be breaking things calling themselves obstacles on my way!
I fear how crushing they will become when I release that power in me!

-Israelmore Ayivor

Someone needs you in order to survive

Your success is dependent on someone else's success. Similarly, someone's success also depend on yours. We live in an ecosystem where our actions depend and interlink one another. This means, there is someone out there who cannot survive without you.

Your goal should be to stand up and work your dreams to fulfill someone's needs as someone is also doing something beautiful to make you survive! Share your success and lets someone laugh out loud and say "I am impressed".

-Israelmore Ayivor

Don't neglect your talents

Everyone has something peculiarly special to him or her. Same have you. There is something common that you can do in a special way, and if you do it in your way, everyone turns round and look at that again! Don't neglect that talent. Apostle Paul in the Holy Bible also stressed on this topic "neglect not the gift that is in thee..." (1 Tim 4:14a)

Its very unfortunate in some cases where folks are talented in and area and ignorantly turn away to concentrate more on something else just because someone else is doing doing it there excellently. Its very dangerous because it hides your talented self and makes you wear someone's talents. You mask your self when you are noted for this. Identify your inherent gifts and work hard to maximized the potentials you need to fulfill that talent.

Your life is in your mind

Who you are today is a direct image of what went on in your mind yesterday. What you will become tomorrow is a copy of what is going on in your brains today. What are your thoughts directed to? Are they about profanity, vanity and immorality? Or they are about the journey to greater height! Are you thinking of making an impact on this earth, that angels of heaven will one day beat their chests to say "yes, there was a man so productive.

Wayne Dyer said it all in his quotation; "The state of your life is nothing more than a reflection of your state of mind". Doubt it or leave it, its real and if you live to be a doubter of facts, that was what went on in your mind a while ago.

Don't let the lusts of the earth consume you. Rather be a consumer of every opportunity that will open a new door for you to make greater impacts in even the generations unborn. Think well...think positive!

The two (2) seasons in fulfilling a dream

Many millions of people waste their precious lives seeking immediate joy, promotion, satisfaction, comfort, safety, security, approval and acceptance which only lead finally to depression, demotion and debt. They become Oppressed, Suppressed and Compressed because they were depressed. They dream, wish and wait for something good to come to them now, without making any step. The woeful tale of doom they only have to narrate to us later would probably be about their regrets in the words "had I known".

On the journey to fulfillment of one's dreams, there are two main seasons; the dry and the wet seasons. The former is painted with pains, strains and even blood stains and characterized by personal efforts to turn things round through thick and thin. Every determined achiever had passed through this season before having a triumphant entry into the second season.

The wet season is the period of smiles when the determined sower reaps. During this period, tears become smiles while sweats become joy. Pains become gains and this is no new thing to  those who have passed through these two seasons before. They got more news to tell us

You can do more

Are you ready to move beyond old ways which focused on procrastination, excuses, laziness and the like? Are you prepared to follow the few who have recognized their divine visions and could not wait than to pursue them? Are you planning what to do to see yourself beyond what you are known for and what you do now? Do you know that you can do more than you are doing? Have you taken the chance to study how others have made it, till great testimonies they now have to tell.

Where you are now is just a sign post to inform you that you can graduate exceptionally to greater height. The sky can be the limit, no controversy! But how come some have their foot prints on the moon? Those who exceeded the level of the sky were just like you. However, the little difference between them and you is that, "you can do more" only if you believe it. Good luck!
